Ananias Hayes, B.A. is a doctoral student in clinical psychology with extensive experience working with adolescents and adults from diverse cultural backgrounds. He is committed to addressing psychological needs through a culturally informed, cognitive behavioral approach. Ananias views psychotherapy as a collaborative process that empowers individuals to become the version of themselves they strive to be. He offers an empathetic and reflective environment where patients are invited to explore a range of concerns, including medical challenges, adjustment difficulties, insomnia, athletic performance, anxiety, and depression. Together, Ananias and his patients examine core beliefs and behavioral patterns to foster self-awareness, acceptance, and promote a more integrated sense of self.

Mr. Hayes earned his B.A. in Psychology from Queens University of Charlotte, where he also competed as an NCAA Division I Men’s Volleyball athlete. He is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at American University. His clinical training includes work at Georgetown University MedStar, Queens University of Charlotte Transition to University program, and American University’s campus clinics, where he has provided psychotherapy and psychological assessments. Most recently, Mr. Hayes completed his second year of doctoral-level clinical training, focusing primarily on cognitive behavioral therapy in community-based settings.

Ananias has experience addressing a wide range of psychological concerns, including anxiety, depression, health challenges, adjustment difficulties, insomnia, substance use, relational challenges, and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

TRAINING EXPERIENCE

Ananias Hayes is a doctoral extern at NOVA PS. A doctoral extern is a provider who is currently in graduate level training in a doctoral program. Ananias is well qualified and closely supervised by an advanced doctoral level licensed psychologist to ensure that there is a high quality level of care. Currently, Ananias is supervised by Dr. Angela Fletcher and Dr. Eleni Rizakos.
